Sasquatch 2009

From 11am until 12am…what a fest! There were only a few decent bands leading up to Nails, but it was fun regardless. A beer cost $9, a hotdog cost $8, a soda $6 and water was $4. What a freaking rip! Meh, what do you expect at a concert?! LOL I just wish I would have brought a box of cigars with me. I toked one up right before we entered around 11am. I just wish I had a couple more near the end of the night. Sparking one up right at the end of Nails would have fit perfectly. Okay on to the three bands that were worth mentioning:

Street Sweeper Social Club (SSSC) did a great set. They really were Johnny-on-the-spot with their performance! Needless to say, I will now be a fan of their music, and I cannot wait to get their album in June. There is nothing like the performer thanking the crowd for coming out and spending their hard earned monies during a recession on a concert. Yeah, they kicked ass.

Nine Inch Nails! EPIC. FTW! Loved them! Wish, The Fragile, The Becoming, March of the Pigs, Terrible Lie, The Hand that Feeds, Survivalism were some of the songs that were performed. He also did one Ghost song, and also an instrumental from The Fragile album (the name escapes me). He finished with Hurt, which the whole freaking crowd sang to. It was a great concert. The light show was great too; I just wished that Nails started later when it was dark instead of dusk. I was too busy enjoying the show, screaming and singing along to take any decent video or pictures.

Following Nails was Jane’s Addiction. They really put on a good performance. Perry worked the crowd with his ramblings and such. I love how he brought up the fact that they started Lollapalooza back in the 90’s and how great it was to be back performing at said spot. They were a treat to listen to, but I think that Caught Stealing could have been done better. However, STOP! And Jane Says were beautiful!

Great shows, and it was all worth baking in the sun getting all crispy and junk all day just for Nails. Add to it that SSSC played noonish with great tunes and Jane’s finished the fest perfectly…yes, all I need now is to see Daft Punk and I could die complete. LOL

Day 2 of indulgence

Well, it was quite a fun day today. We played paintball, which I got 3 out of 5 kills in, and I got hot in the mask once; nothing like a mouthful of pink paint LOL. We stuffed ourselves with Wingers all you can eat wings, and I made a wonderful elk stroganoff for dinner. Also, we looked at some beautiful bikes at the Yamaha dealership. After that, we went to the Gamers Cave and played Left 4 Dead for 4 straight hours (2am)! Now, I am back to the house, filled with joy and regret. The regret is not to be named because that chapter of my life has been closed. Spokonia Noche!

Watchmen

Just drove to Idaho to visit Lee, and we watched Watchmen. Freaking great movie. The best line in the whole movie was "I'm not locked up in here with all of you...you're all locked up in here with me." Excellent flick. We laughed, we cried (not really)...this showing made up for the Bond flick we saw last year.

And it begins

Well, here I am.

I be here.

My routine is starting again. I just finished my first 3.5 mile run for the year. Hopefully I will get up to 5.75 again soon. A lot of thinking and reflecting while I was running...and a lot of emotional turmoil as well. Memories, though not as strong, still plague me a little.

There.

A decent first entry.

umm....I like cake?
